I started my first business, offering web development services 5 years ago., I looked around for a product that would allow me to generate invoices, keep accounting records, etc. Lots of the products available at the time claimed to be “Easy to use”.
If you’ve tried any of these products yourself then you’ll know they’re anything but easy. Refusing to be defeated, I used my programming skills to put together a truly simple (and very basic) system for use in my own company.
In 2005 we had a quite spell, so I decided to develop the software a bit further. We made it look a bit better and added some more of the essential features that were lacking.
We then released it to the public and asked for feedback on how we could improve it. We didn’t realise quite how many people were in the same situation we had been – the number of users went very high, very quickly.
There were lots of things that the software didn’t do, or didn’t do well enough. But based on feedback from our early customers we quickly addressed these problems.
Fast forward a few years to today. The software is now fully functional and has lots and lots of useful features – but it’s remained true to it’s original purpose – to remain truly easy to use.
We now have thousands of customers (including accountants!) and last year we beat Sage at an industry Customer Satisfaction Award.
We still continue to develop the software based on feedback from our customers and every day we receive emails from our customers saying how delighted they are to have found something that’s so easy to use.
